The Spaniards introduced some of their own recipes to Mexico, many of which, especially those using lots of egg yolks and sugar (like Flan), were invented in convent kitchens. For the many feast days, Mexicans bake special pastries such as Churros and Bunuelos (cinnamon crispies).
